Syncro XMM features are currently in EA (Early Access). Click here to participate.

This document provides an overview of the main steps you need to take to get started with Syncro's XMM features.

Step 1: Connect Your Microsoft Tenants

To begin using these features, your first step is to connect your Microsoft Tenant(s). You can integrate with a Single Tenant or a CSP.

IMPORTANT: If you're integrating with a CSP, be sure to review these Prerequisites.

Follow these steps to integrate with a Single Tenant:

  1. Navigate to Admin > RMM Settings - Microsoft Tenant Management.
  2. Click the Integrate with Microsoft button, then select “Single Tenant.”
  3. Log into your Microsoft account (if necessary), then click Accept for the required permissions.
  4. Next, map Your Syncro Tenants.

See also: Integrate Microsoft.

Step 2: Map Your Syncro Tenants

The next step is to connect, or map your Microsoft Tenants from Step 1 to their appropriate Syncro Tenants.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Admin > RMM Settings - Microsoft Tenant Management.
  2. Click the vertical ellipsis ()  in the appropriate row, then select “Map Syncro Tenant.”
  3. Select an existing Organization from the Syncro Tenant dropdown menu.
  4. Click Start Tenant Mapping.
  5. Next, sync your users.

See also: Map Syncro Tenants.

Step 3: Sync Your Users

When you set up Microsoft Entra ID User Sync for each of your Organizations, Syncro can pull your existing users from Microsoft into Syncro as End Users, and keep them synchronized. The User Sync also allows you to take Microsoft-specific user actions—such as resetting a user's MFA or password—directly from Syncro.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Syncro Tenant's Details Page.
  2. In the Customer Organization's Microsoft User Sync column, click Set Up.
  3. Click the down-facing caret to open and check the desired boxes for the User Type, Domain, Office Location, Department, and Group sections.
  4. Click Enable Sync.
  5. Click Close.
  6. Next, attach a Baseline to your tenants.

Step 4: Attach a Baseline to Your Tenants

The Security Essential Baseline is a Syncro-curated Baseline you can attach to your Syncro Tenants so they're regularly audited, allowing you to track and enforce essential Microsoft 365 security best practices.

Follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the Baselines tab.
  2. Click the Tenants toggle to display the “Tenants” view.
  3. Check one or more boxes (or click the header box) to select Syncro Tenant row(s).
  4. In the upper right corner, click Attach Baseline.
  5. Select a Baseline, then click Attach.
